Description

This brings us pretty much up to date in the whole figure drawing saga.  No reference used for this at all,  just built up around a skeleton then inked and coloured.  She is looking rather static, but we're way further on that we were at the start of the year.  This is Manga Studio, which still makes the best ink lines of them all.  Comic factoid: Fiona Staples who draws Saga uses Manga Studio for the ink, then goes over to Photoshop for the colours.  I think her work is fantastic, so I'm going to stick with what she uses, then hopefully when I grow up I'll be able to draw just like her.

My women all have very broad shoulders.  I know why this is - there's a bit in the Loomis book that explains the differences between the male and female skeletons.  I skipped this bit and thought I'd go back to it later, and kept on drawing male skeletons.  Everybody gets a male body +/- breasts tacked on as an afterthought, which doesn't quite look 'right'.  I think now would be a good time to address this issue.  As well as problems around shoulders and breasts, clothes are proving tricky too, but it's still early days.

Why an elf? Because elves are AWESOME.  If it were up to me then we'd all wake up tomorrow with pointy ears.  I really should've coloured in the guns...
